Boxy and friends
We have at least two box turtles roaming around the yard; one has a distinctive stylized “Face” in the forward markings of the shell (sorry they are out of focus); the other has a more random pattern. Eventually, we hope to identify all the individual turtles in our area.
Jul 22 — Below is a third individual, a wood turtle with orange coloration and flared strakes around the rear edge of the shell. The overall shape is broader and flatter than the two box turtles above.
